Scratchy: Part 1

temerarious [tem-uh-rair-ee-uhs]
-adjective
reckless; rash.

Back in the day I thought it would be kind of funny to have Goonie talk in words people didn't know. BAD BAD IDEA. NOT FUNNY.

I came to this realization on my own, mainly when I was reading other webcomics (back when I used to read other people's webcomics) and they would bring in some ethnic character who you basically had to sit there and decode what they were saying and I soon grew to hate those characters. A general "get the fuck out of the comic because I dont wan't to decode your stupid unfunny ass" syndrome. So I knew it was a bad idea to have those characters. So in any comic I make that's going to be kept to a bare minimum. In fact even if I have a ethnic character I'm probably just going to leave the slanted speech to your imagination than actually writing in ebonics or jamacian speak or any of the other common examples.

And on that note, Scratchy isn't ethnic. He has a lisp/speech impediment. This is because it's how I did Scratchy's voice in the live action version. It's going to make a return appearance when I voice act Scratchy for Mugen. Not really looking forward to that, but whatever.

The cerals behind Goonie are as follows: Emperor Oats, Heartburn O's, Golden Grahams and Lucky Charms.

Notice how Goonie doesn't have gloves in that one shot. That's a total fuck up by me. Also it didn't occur to me at the time that technically he shouldnt be able to feel pain through his glove when he shatters the glass. In fact, the opposite occured to me. Him hurting his hand on the glass was kind of me poking fun at movies where characters shatter glass and dont even hurt their hands. I guess technically I never said they didnt feel pain through their Goomba gloves, but it'd kind of be stupid to program something like that in.

Scratchy's shotgun is taking straight from Resident Evil 3. It's the Benelli M3S.
And when he fires it, I think I was studying the graphics when you fired the shotgun in RE3 so it should be close to how it looks in RE3.

Goonie's rifle is just something that came up on google image search for rifle. Even so it's not photoshopped or anything, I remade the rifle in flash just studying the picture.

Remember that Flash movie/game I mentioned. This scene and the fight in the store were retooled from the interactive fight I had designed for the Flash game. The original idea was you had to jump over Scratchy's shotgun blast and sneak in shots until his health was reduced enough and then he would retreat outside and the fight would end.

EMBARASSING FACT: *insert Scratchy healing sequence here* really is out of a sort of lazy/exhaustedness. Since this was before I streamlined the images drawing everything was way harder and another healing sequence just didn't feel worth it. This is totally out of character for me, I usually make things as hard as possible on myself on purpose.
