Chapter 1: When Goonie met Goonie

If you don't recognize the Harry met Sally parody, then shame on you. And yes, the stasis pods are a Megaman reference. In fact you can argue all of Gombie is a Megaman reference back in 1992. We certainly didn't make any bones about it back then. Gombie even flew around in a Dr Wily ish space ship back in the original Mario Paint movie once.

All the clones names have been set in stone since the original. Why is Scratchy named Scratchy? Why is Scritchy named Scritchy? I have no idea. I maybe would have had an answer for you 16 years ago but I certainly can't remember now. I think "Rock" may have had some kind of original "Rocky" (like a rock not like the boxer) association back in the day, but I dont really know for sure. He certainly didn't have any rock form power or anything. Sis and Dude are obvious and as for Bio it's a nod to his biological reforming ability.

I recently made the Clone Chamber you see in this strip as a stage for Mugen. I updated the look a little but mostly kept it true to this strip. I actually decided against adding more detail to the background of the Mugen stage because the background of the Clone Chamber in the strip is pretty bare.
